Biography

Will Doyle paints a wide variety of subjects, primarily in oil, but also in acrylic, watercolor and pastel. His approach and method depends on what he feels is right for each painting. He enjoys both the classic techniques of carefully building a painting through a series of steps and the more direct Alla Prima approach. He exhibits in solo and group shows and has won many awards. His works are in collections throughout North America and Europe.

Will was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Fine art has been his lifelong interest. He has traveled widely in the Americas, Europe and Africa, drawing and painting and attending workshops with such noted artists as Richard Schmid, Jerry Smith, Clayton J. Beck III and Scott Burdick. He currently lives in Villanova, Pennsylvania with his family and paints both in his studio and outdoors.

His father was a professional illustrator and designer and influenced Will's early interest in fine art. Will has a degree in Industrial Design from The Institute of Design at Illinois Institute of Technology (the “American Bauhaus”). His professional business career includes industrial, graphic and Internet design and marketing. He also studied fine art and design at the Universities of Illinois and Northwestern.
