Favorite Courses - Series 1

This composition shows the classic view of the world-famous Old Course at St Andrews, Scotland including the Swilcan Bridge, the Royal and Ancient Club House, the Masters Monument and portions of the town. I simplified the image (leaving out much visual clutter such as lamp posts, autos and the like) and enriched the primary forms and colors to emphasize the visual and emotional power of the essential elements of the scene.

This image of the Loch Lomond Golf Course is a true "Birdie" - an eagle-eye view of 4th hole and fairway on the right, flanked on the left by the 3rd fairway. In the distance one can see how dramatically the course is situated relative to surrounding hills and water. The light spot in the upper center, just below the water's edge, is the Club House.

Here we view the stately Loch Lomond Club House from the water's edge across the 7th fairway towards the 8th hole. The hills in the background have been "slightly relocated" from nearby. This "looking in several directions at once" gives a more comprehensive feeling of the vibrant, almost sensual experience one gets from this legendary course and location.
